re-consideration of the question of sidings to the Wharf

and Godown Company's premises and to Kowloon Marine Lots

74 and 75.

4.

As the proposal to place the

Terminus between Robinson (Nathan) Road and Des Voeux

Road was one for a temporary arrangement only, I will not

discuss in detail the objections he has raised to it as

I consider that in view of those objections this temporary

scheme should in any event be abandoned.

5.

The objections to the proposal to

place the permanent Terminus between Macdonnell Road and

Des Voeux Road demand very serious consideration in view

of the heavy outlay which has already been incurred in

acquiring Kowloon Inland Lots 1140, 1141 and 443 and to

which the Government is committed in respect of Kowloon

Inland Lots 442 and 618.

The objections now adduced to the

scheme may be summarised as follows:-

(a).

In view of the exigencies of

alignment in approaching the Station, the length necessary

for fanning out sidings to the various platforms necessary

for development would be confined to that available from a

spot about 200 feet to the eastward of Robinson (Nathan)

Road.
